Worry- Free Weekend

That weekend was the kind of weekend we needed. A stress- free weekend just before my birthday week. We haven't had this kind of weekend for a while so I consider this an advance present for my birthday. We had a free cut from school and we couldn't be more thankful for the breather.

Why I Love Weekends at Home

So far the weekend has been good to me. Last night I started watching a new series called Da Vinci's Demons while B and I exchange those silly kind of messages. You know, those kind of messages that you send to that person you terribly miss. ;)

Today has been a quiet and steady kind of day, which is good. I woke up and cooked breakfast, cleaned my room and finished my laundry in the morning. And now I have plenty of time in my hands. I planned to study after I had lunch but ended up browsing your lovely blogs, don't blame me, blog hopping is just so addicting. :) After that I decided to try this recipe I found on Pinterest. While sipping this blended coffee I texted B out of the blue (because that's what we do when someone suddenly realizes or thought about something) saying that I realized I wanted to do a lot of things. Blame that on Pinterest.

And now, as I am typing this very random blog post, I am currently waiting for my mom to finish cooking her  spaghetti (it's her specialty). It smells so good from where I am and it's making me hungry. That's why mothers are the best. On that note, Happy Mother's Day, Mommy!:) Okay promise I'll try my bestest to study after the spaghetti. ;)

Life is good, isn't it?

Roadtrip Weekend

Hello loves. I'm back today for some weekend shenanigans. This weekend I got to do one of the things I love. Traveling. I am always thankful for every chance I get to travel and be somewhere else. And this is another reason why summer is my favorite time of the year.

Oh Fridays (or not)!!

I know it's technically not Friday anymore here in Manila, but hey it's still Friday in some other parts of the world so I will still write some letters for today. Plus, I am also linking up with Jean for Aloha Friday. We're having a day off from school today so I have loooots of free time I guess since B is currently practicing basketball with his team mates and I am, well, I'm here lying in bed checking out your lovely blogs. LOL ;) Okay now time for the letters.

Dear Self, you are doing a great job. You have been through rough times the past few weeks but I know you can do it. Just hang in there and stay strong! :)

Dear Heart, sorry if you have been overused lately. I know you have been so stressed out and all. I promise I'll try to take it easy on you the next few days. But please don't blame me if there are times that my heartbeat seems to be suddenly racing one minute and goes fluctuating the next one. I can't help it if I'm too giddy. I guess I'm bipolar like that. Haha

Dear Thoughts, you have been so scattered lately. It shows in my room. See how messy you are? But seriously, you have to gather yourself up pretty soon because I really really need to get my focus back. This maybe a bit harsh for you, but I'm giving you the whole Christmas break to fix yourself.

Dear Christmas, you're coming already? Really that fast? How come I didn't seem to notice? I know they say Christmas comes early here in the Philippines but I must be living under a rock (or comforter) to have not noticed that there's only 18 days more left before you're here. I guess that's why we've been having a week full of Christmas parties in school.

Dear Jean, I am so glad that you have stumbled upon my little blog and have invited me to join Aloha Friday. Thank you so much, I am so excited to be part of it. If you are wondering what I'm talking about here you better visit What Jean Likes. Jean hosts a blog hop called Aloha Friday but what's great here is that it happens not just on Fridays but goes on all weekend long. :)

Dear B, I can't say much anymore because I think I pretty much have told you everything already right? But I guess I will never get tired and will never stop thanking you for keeping me (in)sane, always. LOL. And yes, those last words are for you. ;)

Happy weekend!

I've Got Another (a few) Confession to Make...

It's Sunday once more and it's time for another link up with Alyx for this week's Sunday Confession. Okay, forgive me for using that line from a Foo Fighter song. It's just kind of stuck in my head right now. :) And because my brother is currently watching the Transformers on HBO and I can't focus on my book, I'll just share my confessions with you ladies.

First, our dog just gave birth to 6 cute puppies today. This is her second litter and every one in the house was pretty excited today.

This week, it was a battlefield back in school again. Yeah, that's kind of expected though. I was dead- tired everyday and feel sorry that B had to do the laundry over the weekend.

I was cranky and moody and hormonal the whole week. Yes, it's called PMS- ing. Blame that on the hormones.

Haha yes we have those days.

My bestfriend and I have been going gaga over the themes at Play Store. Gotta love Android. :) I mean, who wouldn't love these cute themes

Cute ain't it?;)

I am enjoying planning a wedding. I never thought I'd actually enjoy this because I was never really a fan of planning. But this one really gets me excited. I have been pinteresting for ideas for a week now! :) Follow me here.

My room has finally got its much needed paint job. Finally! Though I am practically room-less right now I love my room's new look and I'm very much excited to fix it. Here is the color of the walls.

B and I have been discussing on something. And I think we are about to make a big decision/ move soon. *Fingers- crossed*

What are your confessions this week?

Enjoy the rest of the week ladies! ;)

I Confess...

That first week back in school flew by swiftly I barely noticed it was Sunday already. New week again tomorrow. But before that, I've got some confessions to make courtesy of Alyx over at Every Day is a New Adventure.

The past week I confess that...

I pretty had too much alcohol in my system. I think that alcohol consumption for the past week compensated for the past 3 months of being alcohol free.

I gained a lot of pounds again. That's not something to be happy about I know. But eating is really something B and I love doing together. I think the time we spent together makes gaining pounds worth it.

I enjoyed the last homework- free week with my friends. Yes, I think that's the last stress- free week for us. Tomorrow it is really back to reality. So my friends and I decided to spend it wisely. :)

Karaoke and drinks with friends. :)

Life is really amazing with its random surprises. First was the chocolates from a friend, just cause. And then last Tuesday while B and I were having our lunch a kid selling garlands approached us. When I told him we wouldn't buy he asked for our leftovers instead. B gladly gave his. After eating the kid then gave me one of the garlands he's selling, it really made me speechless.

I was happy to back in my skirts! Yay to pantless week. :)

I was a little irresponsible being drunk for 3 nights and having B take care of me. But hey, I think we're entitled to be drunk once in a while. No? Thank God for B's incredible amount of patience. I was a bad girl last week. Promise it won't happen again.

B was pretty amazing and was extra sweet this week.. He patiently patiently took care of me the times I was drunk and in the morning we'd make fun of how drunk I was. Thank you B for making me smile everyday, for keeping your cool when I throw my tantrums, for letting me get drunk and spend time with friends because you know that would make me feel better, for making me feel better, for just being there without me asking you to, for holding my hand, for hugging me tight, for the walks we have at night, for the little things and for everything else and for just being you. Oh, and one more thing, I'm sorry if I almost slapped you the other night that I was drunk. I'll make it up to you. ;)

So have you got any confessions? You can link up here. :)

Happy Sunday lovelies! :)

Little Things

There are times when what you appreciate the most are the little things in life. Sometimes it's those little things that make a big impact.

Little things like serenity... At this moment I am currently enjoying and savoring a quiet Saturday night in the comfort of my room. Yes, I am home on a Saturday night. Most people may think of it as boring. I say it's not. I just chose to be here right now and bathe in the silence this night brings. I'm lucky enough to have this kind of night, not everyone gets this kind of opportunity. We all need to pause once in a while from our busy lives, right?;)

There are really little things make your heart melt and make you say, "Awww :)" More often than not these things come unrecognizable, but when you do become aware of them you will realize how lucky you are to be having or experiencing these kind of things. You can't help but thank life for being so good.

It's simple things like these...
The calmness of the night.

You just gotta love it, don't you?

Donut! :)
Not exactly the donut I was craving for, but it was his effort to look for one that made it special. ;)

Spending your birthday with that someone special. ;)

PIZZA again!
Having pizza and pasta on your birthday.

Pink! Haha
A pink mouse and pink nails.

There's still a lot more. Like not being late in your 8:30am class despite waking up at 7am. And not being called in today's recitation. And getting to relax tonight and watch a movie in the comfort of my bed. And getting a text message from him asking how your day was. Then talking over the phone for unlimited hours once more. Why? Just cause we want to. ;)

So what are the simple things that made you smile today?;)

The I'm-Stuck-Inside-the-House-and-I-Don't-Mind-It Weekend

The heavens must have gone mad last week. It has been raining non- stop on this side of the world since I can remember, well Friday maybe? And it just doesn't stop. I even asked the rain at one point if it doesn't get tired. There's the lunatic in me again, talking to the rain. Haha ;) Good thing Mr. Sun's slowly peeking up this morning.

What better way to spend a cold, rainy weekend? Stay in bed and cuddle with your love. ;) Yes I'd prefer that than to brave the rains outside. I don't really like rainy days because I just don't like my feet getting wet, ugh.  Let's just say I'm more of a sun person. So yes, I'd rather stay indoors in this kind of weather.

And that's exactly what I did. After some early morning run through of the cases for Saturday's class I went back to bed with B. How can you resist him when he's holding out both of his arms and asking you to come back beside him? Really how? So Friday was practically just a stay-in-bed day. We woke up at 4pm and shared a bowl of porridge for our late (really late) brunch. And because I was too lazy to move yet again he brought the food to me, breakfast in bed as he would put it. It just dawned upon me that I'm a bit spoiled am I?;) After attending to some of the things we have to do we realized that it's still raining hard so we're back to dreamland once again. Only to wake up realizing that we're both hungry because we haven't ate anything decent for the whole day. We have NO choice but to get up and eat out. I'm not surprised we both have double orders for dinner. Hahaha ;)

Saturday was not a different story, well maybe a bit different. I woke up chilling because I had a fever and I had to take those tablets (I hate taking meds). So I had no choice but to skip my morning classes. I planned to go to my afternoon class, but it was suspended, due to the rains. So back to bed I am, and I just stayed there the whole day.

By Sunday I feel well. So even though the rain is still bugging us, I had to get up and do my laundry. Also, my back is aching, obviously from lying around for the past days. But by afternoon, I found myself  lying around back again and starting Fifty Shades Freed. When I got tired reading I browsed the movies B saved in my lappy and decided to watch Like Crazy. But I'm still not sleepy after that so again I played another one, From Prada to Nada. It was a nice end to a rainy Sunday night.

But before the rainy weekend, my week was pretty fine. And here's evidence (courtesy of my Instagram) to show it. Well I'm a law student so evidence is important for me. Hahaha ;)

Follow me on Instagram: karlaizavella :)

I wore the shoes to school last Tuesday when the weather was still fine. Wouldn't dare wearing and ruining it in the kind of weather we are having right now.

On Wednesday I decided to wear my Revlon Lipstick in Mulled Wine, well just cause! Haha ;)

And then again there's pizza. Yes, B and I downed another box of pizza once more. One box for 2 people. I guess by now, you know how we both love pizza. ;)

I mentioned I was sick last Saturday, so it results in this.  Yes, I am done with Fifty Shades Darker and is now on the third installment of the trilogy.

Sunday I had to ditch my law books once more because I couldn't bring myself to put down that second book in the picture. And now I have to pay for it because I have some catching up to do for class.

So I guess I better stop blabbing and start working. Haha. Sorry for talking too much today. ;)

PS: I'm happy to be blogging today because I feel I have neglected my blog for so long. I really really wanted to write something but I just couldn't find an inspiration to do so. It's just one of those days I guess.

PPS: I'm glad that the sun is coming out today. C'mon Mr. Sun, don't be shy, you can come out now. I've missed you. ;)

In a Different Light

Time really goes by fast these days. Another week has again ended. I have been pre- occupied by school and boyfriend stuff the past week. And this Sunday seems so unlike my other Sundays. Well, I am still blogging from my bed right now. But I must say, this is promising to be a productive day for me. Yay for that! ;)

For one, I have finished my laundry for the week. Then cleaned my room and changed the sheets. And now I'm blogging. Later on, I've been planning to get a head start on some cases for Tuesday's Wills & Succession class. That's after some zzz's I've also been planning to get. ;)

Here are some snaps from my Instagram of what's been going on with me last week. Hey are you also on Instagram? Let's follow each other ;)

First Picture: As you may have known based from my previous post, I am currently addicted to the Fifty Shades Trilogy. I am currently on the second book now. The picture has a line which says, "I don't know which way your mood is going to go... It's confusing" It caught my attention and I found it funny because the line seems to be describing someone I know. ;p

Second Picture: Pizza with some friends from school after a meeting regarding the upcoming Bar Examinations this October.

Third Picture: Those are chocolates. Curly Tops to be specific. Those who lived in the same childhood as mine would surely know what it is. Only this time it does not come with a yellow wrapper anymore. B and I were munching on those (and a lot more of junk) when we had movie night-- our way, last Thursday. Oh it was so fun. ;)

Fourth Picture: I like writing little "thank you or I miss you" notes to B. And I was touched when I saw where he keeps my letters-- I found it tucked above his bed. He said he wanted it there so it won't get out of his sight and so he could always see them first thing in the morning. I remember he once told me that he isn't the sweetest person out there. But he surely can be sweet in his own ways. ;)

Mascara off and into Fifty Shades of Grey

Hello blogging world. Another lazy Sunday is about to end and as I think about how my week went all I can think about is my bed. Yes you read it right, the bed. And that's because I have been having quite a love affair with my bed for the past days. I am having separation problems with it right now. You could just imagine the effort I put to get up from it. ;) In fact, I am in bed again right now as I write this blog entry.

Anyway, I went to see an ophthalmologist this week because of an eye irritation. And guess what he ordered me to do? No eye make up for a week or so until the infection goes away. I don't really put much eye makeup on a daily basis, except for mascara which is a staple for my everyday look. But I will be good and follow the doctor's order. So I guess I'll be mascara- free in the next days. I'm still getting used to it though.

Doctor's order.

~x~

On other news, one reason why I am stuck in my bed is because I am currently engrossed in reading Fifty Shades of Grey. It is just so hard to put it down. I wouldn't if I didn't have to go back to reality and read law books. ;) I am about to finish the first book and excited to start Fifty Shades Darker.

Have anyone read the book as well? What are your thoughts on it?

What is it with me and Sunday?? I am really having a hard time getting out of bed on Sundays. I had 11 hours of sleep last night and another 2 hours this afternoon and yet I can't keep my eyes open.

Saturdate Movie Night: The Amazing Spiderman

Could someone tell me where June went?? I woke up realizing  it's July already, my birthday month. I guess June had been good and I was having too much fun that I didn't notice it flew by so fast.

Okay so the weekend. After that hormonal week (you can read about it here) my weekend was okay... it was fine. B and I spent the weekend with a couple of friends and oh well The Amazing Spiderman. We capped off June by spending our Saturday night at the movies. I had to ask B to skip class that night (bad me, I know) haha. ;)

It was a lazy day at school last Saturday, after a lot of cramming to finish an assignment due 12 midnight that very same day, and a lot of dizziness and headache for me we barely made it to the movies. But we still did, just in the nick of time. ;)

Now to the movie. It was funny. I don't know if it's just me, but really, that's what I thought about the movie. It had a lot of funny scenes in it. Well it's just not as amazing as I thought it would be. I still thought the Avengers was better. Also, the 3D glasses made me more dizzy at one point. Maybe due to my lack of sleep the previous night. Despite that, kids would still enjoy it I think.

*Oh and I would like to commend myself for having a Saturday night out without alcohol. Yay me! ;)*

It also rained a lot last weekend. So we just stayed in bed most of the time. We wouldn't get up if only my tummy wasn't complaining and he didn't have to play basketball last night.

Since I was not able to take pictures last Saturday night, well because we were in a rush, I would just share with you what I wore the whole week to school. ;)

Hope everyone had a good weekend. Happy Monday lovelies! ;)

The Week That Was

My week in photos. ;)

After the rain..
Last Friday, I went to school to have my and B's clearance fixed. Had lunch with my cousin and introduced him to some of my friends. It was a very humid day (nothing new here) when it suddenly rained as we were eating. I took this shot on the way home after the skies have cleared up.

L-R: my turquoise earrings; sunset on the city; city lights; by the pool

Yesterday we headed north and spent the night at the SM Grass Residences. Ever since I bought the turquoise earrings from Baguio, I've been looking for an opportunity and a top to pair with it. Yesterday's scorching weather gave me the perfect excuse to wear my lace-y turquoise top to match my earrings. ;)

Sunsets never fail to amaze me. And I never knew sunsets in the city are as beautiful as those you see on the beaches.

I discovered something new last night: the beauty of city lights. ;) Being on the 30th floor of the condominium I was able to get a good view of the metro and I was engulfed by the sight below me. I just stood there for my minutes staring at the lights.

By morning, my mom and cousin decided to go for a dip. I passed on this one. I just basked under the sun and savored the rest of my weekend away! ;)

What have kept you busy this week?;)

Weekend in Baguio ♥

Every trip I make to Baguio is magical. The city never fails to amaze me and the experience is always one of the best. My cousin from the States is here for a vacation, so over the weekend, we decided to visit the City of Pines.

So as promised, here the pictures of my recent trip. ;)

Clear blue skies were replaced by dark heavy clouds on the way up the mountains.

Hello Baguio! ;)

Baguio traffic.
Botanical garden
You have to admire these women for the passion and patience they have.
We had taho on our first day. Perfect for the cold weather! ;)

They call this the Fertility Room. ;)

Of course we had to take a rest.

Baguio's lovely pine trees.#SaveBaguioPineTrees

My cousin trying on the isaw. ;)

Hungry people patiently waiting for our turn at 50's Diner. ;)

Of course, when I'm in Baguio I wouldn't pass the chance to eat at this place. They serve the best ice cream milk shakes! ;)

Well, people, I am not a fan of strawberries. Hence, I was not with them on this trip. I was somewhere else, but I'll talk about that in another post. ;)

L-R: Me at the attic. Boy's room. See how messy it is?? Haha. Breakfast on our last day. The room in the attic.

Noooo! I don't wanna go just yet.

It was foggy going down.

We passed by  this on the road, somewhere around Tarlac I think. Good thing no one was hurt.

That was one great weekend for me. I am surely missing Baguio and its cold weather right now and I will surely come back. Thank  you Baguio for the wonderful experiences you always give me.

And as B said the last time we were in Baguio:"It's not bye, it's see you soon."

So Baguio, I'll see you again. Soon. ;)

How was everybody's weekend? Let me know. ;)
